Hormone-Friendly Cacao Chocolate Cake

Dry Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups blanched almond flour

  • ¼ cup coconut flour

  • ½ cup cacao powder (or unsweetened cocoa powder)

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs (room temp)

  • ½ cup maple syrup or honey

  • ¼ cup coconut sugar

  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce

  • ¼ cup melted butter (or coconut oil/avocado oil)

  • ½ cup milk (or unsweetened almond milk)

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • optional: 2 tbsp greek yogurt for an extra moist and juicy texture!

Chocolate Cashew Frosting

  • 1 cup soaked cashews (drained)

  • ¼ cup cacao powder

  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar

  • ¼ cup maple syrup

  • ¼ cup coconut cream

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two 8-inch pans with parchment paper.

  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk wet ingredients.

  • Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.

  • Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 25–30 minutes.

  • Let cool completely before frosting.

  • Blend frosting ingredients until smooth, chill to thicken.

  • Frost, slice, and enjoy your rich, hormone-friendly chocolate cake!
